Have you ever decided not to become a couple because you were so afraid of losing what you already had with that person?

just read some stuff about friends and what ifs'

and reading about it brought memories back to the time earlier this year during april/may period of dilemas. its just scary thinking about that point of time where everything was starting to look up again.

simple words and quotes yet bringing situations in so detailed and wondering if i had thought and dealt with situations at that point of time with this point of view, would things be different now? or would it remain schedually same and boring?

if someone were to shoot me dead right now, will the happy memories fade away with me?
or will the memories shared with all the other people be kept fresh in their minds?

most probably, the memories will fade away with me. people have different views on the same situation. some might enjoy it, others might not. its a perspective thing.
what keeps me wondering in amazement is that a really meaningful event to me might be seen as boring to another. why cant everyone be happy about the same thing and just look out for the little things in life for contentment ?

many times we are all asked to be happy and contented with what we have to attain happiness.
yet high achievers tell us not to be happy with what we have and continue to strive higher and in the process, we either get discouraged in the process or we get what we want, and are forced to repeat the process again.

so when we really want to be happy, should we keep working for it or just be contented with what we have ?

i guess this is one of the most intruiging mysteries in life.
